Click on the title above to see a gallery of pictures from our recent water well drilling trip to Tres Islas, a community of Yuracara on the Chimore River in Cochabamba, Bolivia. We drilled the well with the help of a team of YWAM volunteers and men from the community. The well is 43 meters deep and it took us two days to complete. If the financing works out we will soon be returning to dig wells for the schools of five more communities in the area. This drilling technique works well in this area because the equipment and tools are easily transported by boat down the rivers to the communities. With the help of community labor, the wells can be completed for about $250 (the cost of materials).
